TOOL 11

I have too many in my toolbox to just pick one. I believe that all the technology tools aids every teacher in a everyday bases, from flipcharts on active boards to having a video at the click of the button to present to the class with out waiting for someone else to turn in it to the library first. I know technology can be scary at times but we cant be afraid of something we haven't tried. For my experiences with technology I can tell you that I personally cannot live without it. For the majority of our students all they know is technology, and some of them know more than what we know. Its a good procedure to have students demonstrate or even teach you how to use certain things. Overall we are all learners in the end.

Tool 10

Internet safety is VERY important for all students to

understand. We have the opportunity with technology to

connect of go anywhere in the world our hearth desires but

is also crucial to be cautious. Students need to understand

that everything we put out in this wonderful system is for the

world to see, not only our peers, parents and staff members

for the district. They need to understand that certain

 information must not be shared

Tool 9

  1. Students need to see the real life connection to everything they do , by having an objective tie in into their technology they know that everything they do has a meaning.
  2. Students need to hold accountable in everything they do, our job is to give them new views on learning but at the end is really up to them to embrace them and used then in their life. We as teachers give them the foundations but is up to them to continue learning.
  3. MangaHigh and studyladder is two interactive websites that I was able to use last year as stations. Students were very engaged with the work there. The way that I made them accountable for their time in their station was by sharing a brief explanation on what they learned and how can they use what they did in the class.
  4. The apps that I have downloaded into the Ipads are Ibooks, audio books , Brainquest. Brainpop, Pass the Past, American History, Science Q&A. During Social Studies students are able to go to the apps for Social Studies and test their knowledge by playing games on the information they learned as well as during Science class.

Tool 8

By 5th grade most if not all students are familiar with the usage of Netbooks. When my kiddos last year used the netbooks the mainly thing they were using them for was research and making presentations in Google Docs. Students were able to create their presentations and then utilize the connections to hook them up to the active board and display their assignment.  With the IPADS students were able to practice different subjects with the Apps. I have my personal itune account in one of the Ipads and i down load the apps that I feel that are appropriate for the subjects as well as books. Last year we "read" Pictures of Hollis Wood by Patricia Giff on our IPADS. Since some of the vocabulary was a little above level I also downloaded the audio book. Students were able to follow along on the ipad with the audio book. It was a very amazing thing to see when ELL students would repeat a word that they were not sure how to say from the audio part.

Funny thing that I already incorporated Tool 7 in Tool 6

Skype is one of my favorite tools to use not only can I communicate with family in the United States but world wide. The way I would love to incorporate Skype is by contacting a school in Central America and have students practice their Spanish in the Dual Language program by having common topic debates with students from other parts of the world. Also they can explain to others the History of the United states. We can also use Skype to communicate or present information to the entire school. In Social Studies we are learning the history of America and with the team we briefly talked about having a presentation about the changes of America throughout the decades. We can have a Skype assembly with all grade levels so they can see our presentation.

Tool 6

Using web tools to create discussions is a great way to integrate technology in the classroom. Edmodo is a wonderful tool to have students discuss events, problem solving strategies, and check for their understanding of the lesson. Edmodo is a private and safe environment where classmates can have discussions, and expand on their learning. I plan to used this tool by sending discussion questions about Social Studies current events and get the students talking on how the changes are affecting our world.  I am happy to say that I am a 21st Century learner so I am familiar with most of the tools, Skype is one of my favorite tools to use not only can I communicate with family in the United States but world wide. The way I would love to incorporate Skype is by contacting a school in Central America and have students practice their Spanish in the Dual Language program by having common topic debates with students from other parts of the world.

Tool 5

http://animoto.com/play/JO4Ckev1h7tjRKVgFlGo9w

Animoto is one of the products that I've used for a long time now, in this blog I create a link to an animoto Video that the students from SBE created along with my help to pump them up for TAKS day. This year in 5th grade we are creating a blog just for 5th graders where they can post videos summarizing the lessons that they learned during the week as well as homework help videos. The teachers in 5th grade agreed that by having a common place where we can break down the information would be beneficial for all the students.

Tool # 4 I LOVE google Docs

I truly truly love google Docs.... I started working after Christmas break last year with a new group of students and they are the ones that actually taught me the wonders of google docs. It was so interesting that I could share a document with all of them, have them respond to prompts, have their responses right away, and not waste any paper. Students were also able to create their own presentations about the content they learned and send it  to our entire class. One of the best things that I truly enjoyed about having documents in google docs was that it automatically saves your document!

Tool # 3

Going through all the sites given in this tool, the site that I found that would benefit for my class and students is United Streaming. I am teaching Science and Social Studies and I had to keep that in mind while looking at all the sites . This site has a library of great videos and clips that connect to all the content that the class will be learn in Science and Social Studies, the videos are very informative and still student friendly to keep their attention.I am very familiar with youtube, teachertube and there are times when searching for videos it takes a little longer because it does not match the needs of our students.
